How does a heliostat work?
Our Mirror is looking for the sun until it’s found the position, where the sun is. After that, it goes to a home position, and that is when the product is started the first time. Here the sunbeam will reach your home.
Where a portable heliostat can be used?
In particular, you can bring sunlight into a dark gloomy spot, where usually no sun goes to. So it’s a solution for a wide range of usage.
Can the heliostat work on cloudy or rainy days?
There is not enough LUX available to redirect into your home, even when the product can find the sun.
Is the device fully solar-powered, or does it need a backup power source?
To power the product you need a Type-C cable that is plugged into the power grid. There is no solar panel attached to the product.
How much sunlight does the heliostat need to function properly?
If in the sky are just some small clouds, our product should work fully.
Can the heliostat automatically track the sun all day?
In theory, it can, but it’s limited to the edge where the sun can reach the A-Sonne product.
How far can the heliostat reflect sunlight?
The accuracy of the position is made to rooms they are 5-6 meters deep. But the light can go deeper. So 20 meters should be no problem to reflect sun.
How easy is it to set up the heliostat?
There are 6 visualized steps that each customer just needs to follow before the function is in action.
Can the heliostat be mounted on the roof or walls?
The standard version is made with a heavy base so that it can stay on a flat surface. A mounting is planned for the Balcony installation. (Ask our team here).
Does the heliostat require any special tools for installation?
For the installation you just your bare hands. No additional tools are needed.
Do I need to recalibrate the heliostat regularly, or does it adjust itself?
if you use the A-Sonne Heliostat in the same position there is no need to recalibrate the product. Even when electricity is temporary, not available. The product will remember the Spot where you saved it last time.
Is the heliostat weatherproof and suitable for outdoor use in all seasons?
The product is for home use or put it not Balcony. So you should not put the product under direct rain or water.
What maintenance does the heliostat require?
There is no need to oil the product. It should work for 2 years. It was tested under hard conditions to prove it.
